*General Summary: *An exempt position responsible for working with Pulmonology physicians to provide care to our patients

*Essential Job Responsibilities:*
* Performs comprehensive histories and physical exams, identifies normal and abnormal findings.
* Orders and interprets laboratory and diagnostic tests.
* Develops pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical treatment plans.
* Monitors effectiveness of plan of care.
* Educates patients on conditions and treatment plans.
* Performs procedures as trained and appropriately privileged.
* Documents within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and completes other necessary documents.
* Collaborates and/or consults with physicians and other health care providers as appropriate.
* Educates, counsels, and assists patients and families regarding current health problems, health maintenance activities and preventive behaviors.
* Assist in meeting payer performance measures.

*Education/Certification: Nurse Practitioner - *Requires a diploma from an accredited school of nursing, and of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Requires a certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Georgia and current CPR certification. Must hold a valid RN and ARNP license.

*Physician Assistant – *Requires a diploma from an accredited Physician Assistant Progam. Requires a certification as a Physician in the State of Georgia and current CPR certification. Must hold valid license.

*Experience: *Minimum 1 year in interactive clinical care setting as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant.

*Equipment Operated: *Standard office equipment, including computer.

*Work Environment: *Combination of office, exam rooms, and classrooms. May be exposed to communicable diseases and other conditions common to clinic setting.

*Mental/Physical Requirements: *Varied activities including sitting, walking, reaching, bending, and lifting. Must be able to stand two to four hours during educational sessions. Occasionally required to carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds. Low level of stress.
