*POSITION:* Paramedic
*DEPARTMENT:* Lake Charlevoix EMS Authority (LCEMSA)

*POSITION SUMMARY:*
To provide medical assistance to the sick and injured.

*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:*
* Renders care, medical assistance and transports patients to the appropriate medical care facility.
* Functions within the incident Command System.
* Possesses the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and bystanders at scenes when under stress. Effectively provides education when appropriate to patient and family members.

*CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: *
* Current Paramedic license from State of Michigan
* Current valid Michigan Vehicle Operator’s License without restrictions
* ACLS, PALS, PHTLS or ITLS and BLS certification *(Will train company paid as needed)*
* Emergency vehicle driving certificate *(Will train company paid as needed)*
