Campus Executive Director - Licensed Nursing Home Administrator:

Summary/Objective: Responsible for overall campus management of a skilled nursing facility and assisted living campus. The Campus Executive Director will be responsible for the oversight, profitability, operations, and direction in all aspects of the campus accountable for, but not limited to, census development, management of accounts receivable and collections, maximization of Net Operating Income, resident/patient care, state and federal survey compliance, positive employee relations, a positive return on investment, an effective business plan and implementation of Campus core programs. Acts as the Campus representative in the facilities and community. Follows all North Shore Healthcare policies and procedures. Completes rounds of entire campus at least daily to ensure compliance with all policies, procedures and regulations. The Campus Executive Director will be registered with the state as the licensed Director for the Skilled Nursing facility in addition for full campus oversight.

Essential Functions

Operational Leadership:

* Direct and oversee all aspects of daily operations within the campus, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies; as well as, state and federal regulations as dictated by CMS, DQA, DSPS OSHA and any other regulatory agency.

* Implement and maintain effective systems for resident care, staffing, finance, and facility management.

* Foster a culture of teamwork, respect, and excellence in service delivery among staff members.

* Annually develops and implements a sound business plan that results in provision of quality care and a maximum return on investment

* Review the business plan with department heads at least quarterly to ensure that goals are attained

* Supervisory Responsibilities:

o Make daily work assignments

o Direct the work of employees

o Schedule lunch and rest breaks

o Authorized early departure from work

o Authorize overtime

o Reassign employees from one area to another area as center needs dictate

o Enforce center policies with authority to issue Disciplinary Action Reports as needed

o Review payroll and timecards for accuracy and compliance

o Interview applicants that will be assigned to his/her area of responsibility

o Receive and handles employee complaints

o Participate in training programs and assists in orientation of new staff

Financial Management:

* Develop and manage the annual operating budget in collaboration with the support center.

* Monitor financial performance and implement strategies to achieve budgetary goals and maintain profitability.

* Identify opportunities for cost control and revenue enhancement while maintaining high standards of care.

* Ensure maximum census development

* Establish and reviews Census and Mix objectives in conjunction with the budget and business plan

* Oversee the placement of prospective residents to ensure that residents’ physical, mental and psychosocial needs are met by the center and who meet the financial requirements

Resident Care and Satisfaction:

* Ensure the highest quality of care and services for residents, promoting their physical, emotional, and social well-being.

* Implement programs and activities that enhance resident engagement and satisfaction.

* Address resident and family concerns promptly and effectively, maintaining open communication channels.

Staff Recruitment and Development:

* Recruit, hire, train, and supervise qualified staff members, fostering professional growth and development.

* Provide leadership and mentorship to create a positive work environment that promotes employee retention and satisfaction.

* Conduct regular performance evaluations and implement corrective actions as needed.

Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management:

* Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to skilled nursing and assisted living facilities.

* Maintain a safe and secure environment for residents, staff, and visitors through effective risk management practices.

* Collaborate with regulatory agencies and conduct internal audits to ensure adherence to standards.

* Ensure an effective Performance Improvement (PI) process is in place to identify and resolve center problems

* Ensure campus PI programs achieve compliance expectations as measured by state, federal, and Quality Validation (QV) surveys

* Responsible for the timely response, planning and follow up to any survey or regulatory concerns that arise through critical events, self-reports, complaints, annual surveys and any other regulatory issue brought forth.

Risk Management

* Ensure that the center has an active, effective Safety Committee and Employee relations committee

* Review lost days to ensure center safety programs and claims management are effective

* Ensure center’s compliance with all safety requirements and OSHA regulations

* Follows all federal, state, and company reporting requirements

* Implement transitional duty policy for the center (for individuals with a Center on-the-job injury)

Environmental

* Oversee the proper maintenance of the building, grounds and equipment to ensure a safe, sanitary, and attractive environment for residents/patients and employees and to protect company assets through proper preventative maintenance

Community and Stakeholder Relations:

* Build and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, community organizations, and healthcare professionals.

* Act as a spokesperson and advocate for the campus, promoting its reputation and fostering community involvement.

* Participate in industry associations and networking opportunities to stay informed of best practices and industry trends.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 50 pounds.

Required Education and Experience

* Current state license as Nursing Home Administrator

* Previous experience in post-acute care setting

* Demonstrated success leading a fun and productive work environment

* Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or related field and or experience
* LIcensed as an NHA (Nusring Home Administrator) within the state or the abilty to be licnesed within 6 months based state requirements.

Preferred Education and Experience

* Experience in a fast-paced environment

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Ability to make oral presentations. Has effective communication skills. Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English. Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers, and other center staff. Possess special interest in working with long-term care residents and the elderly. Meets all health requirements imposed by law. Demonstrates basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications. Microsoft Office version 1997, 2000 or XP, MS Word, MS Access, MS Excel, Email, Outlook, Internet Explorer.
