About the College/Unit/Department:

Founded in 2005, the College of Public Health is located on the University of Georgia's Health Sciences Campus. The College consists of four departments and three specialized institutes. The department is located in newly renovated facilities that house faculty, staff and students.

Athens has a rich cultural and intellectual environment that coexists with the university, featuring diverse arts and music, a thriving downtown, college athletics, and historic neighborhoods. Position Summary:

The Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics in the College of Public Health (CPH) at the University of Georgia (UGA) invites applicants for one or more open-rank, tenure-track or tenured positions in epidemiology, with a special focus on non-communicable disease epidemiology. The position is an academic year appointment (9 months) with an opportunity to supplement salary during the summer. The anticipated starting date for the position is August 2025. Applicants at all ranks will be considered.
Responsibilities: The person hired for this position is expected to develop and teach innovative undergraduate and graduate courses focusing on introductory, intermediate and advanced epidemiology and/or biostatistics. Commitment to student mentoring and supervision of projects and dissertation research in the department and college is further expected. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a strong and productive research program with extramural funding and devote time to service activities.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, and/or Certification:

Applicants should be working in an area related to non-communicable diseases, including violence, cardiovascular diseases and conditions, sexual and reproductive health, maternal and child health, birth defects, mental health, substance use, chronic diseases, health disparities, and other areas. Applicants with research experience in non-communicable disease epidemiology or biostatistical methods with a history of external funding are especially encouraged to apply.
