We are currently seeking a skilled HTST Operator to join our team and contribute to the ongoing success of our facility in Frederick Country, Virginia
About the Role
As a HTST (High-Temperature Short-Time) Operator at our yogurt processing facility, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the HTST pasteurization equipment used in the yogurt production process. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of HTST systems, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Operation of HTST Equipment: Operate and monitor the HTST pasteurization system to ensure proper heating, holding, and cooling of milk according to established protocols and quality standards.
- Monitoring and Control: Continuously check and adjust system parameters, including temperature, pressure, and flow rates, to maintain optimal conditions for pasteurization.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct regular quality checks on pasteurized product samples to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Document and report any deviations or irregularities.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on HTST equipment. Identify and report major mechanical issues to the maintenance team.
- Sanitation: Follow strict sanitation procedures to ensure cleanliness of the HTST system and surrounding work areas. Participate in cleaning and sanitizing tasks as needed.
- Compliance: Adhere to all safety, health, and environmental regulations. Ensure that all processes comply with company policies and industry standards.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of operational parameters, maintenance activities, and quality control tests. Prepare reports as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications or vocational training is a plus.
- Minimum 1-year experience operating HTST pasteurization systems or similar industrial equipment in a food or dairy manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Understanding of pasteurization processes, dairy production, and food safety regulations.
- Strong focus on detail and accuracy, with the ability to identify and correct potential issues promptly.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with colleagues and supervisors.
