Position Overview: The Development Director is responsible for leading all fundraising and development initiatives and will work closely as a thought partner with the CEO. The Director will design and execute comprehensive fundraising plans to support CHADD’s mission, programs, and resources. The Director will cultivate relationships with individual and corporate donors, sponsors, and partners, and implement strategies to enhance donor engagement and retention.

Primary Duties:

  • Develop and implement annual, long-term, and short-term fundraising strategies in alignment with CHADD’s mission and strategic plan.
  • In collaboration with the CEO, establish fundraising goals, budgets, and performance metrics.
  • Identify, cultivate, and solicit major donors, individual donors, corporate sponsors, foundations, and government agencies to secure financial support.
  • Plan and execute fundraising campaigns and initiatives in partnership with CHADD’s marketing director to increase revenue and donors.
  • Serve as staff liaison to the Fundraising Work Group
  • Direct donor stewardship activities, including acknowledgment, recognition, and ongoing communication to maintain strong donor relationships.
  • Prepare compelling grant submissions, customized proposals, and fundraising materials to effectively communicate the organization's impact and funding needs and priorities.
  • Oversee CHADD’s advertising, sponsorship, and conference exhibit sales contractor to monitor progress and share prospects.
  • Create new and innovative ways to engage corporate partners to drive revenue and position CHADD as the premier partner organization in the ADHD community.
  • In partnership with the CEO, help identify and forge strategic partnerships with other organizations to expand CHADD’s reach and increase our impact.
  • Work collaboratively with CHADD staff to identify and recommend opportunities for innovative revenue generation.
  • Direct and establish standards for the donor database to ensure accurate and timely recording of donor information, contributions, and interactions.
  • In collaboration with CHADD’s webmaster and marketing director, oversee design and maintenance of the individual donor and corporate sponsor recognition area of the CHADD website.
  • Work closely with CHADD’s National Resource Center Director to develop support possibilities for adults to complement/expand existing government grant focused on pediatric population.
  • Prepare grant reconciliation reports as needed.

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Non-Profit Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or related field (master’s degree and/or CFRE credential a plus).
  • Significant experience in non-profit fundraising, development, or related field.
  • Proven track record of successfully securing grants, donations, and corporate support.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills with the ability to engage and inspire diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent writing skills with experience in grant writing, proposal development, and donor communications.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement effective fundraising strategies.
  • Proficient with donor/customer relationship management software and Microsoft Office 365.
