*Overview*
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medication Aide to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe administration of medications to patients in various care settings, including acute care, hospice care, and memory care facilities. This position requires a strong understanding of medical documentation and anatomy, as well as experience with electronic health record systems such as Cerner and Epic.

*Shift:* 12 hour nights; 6:00PM-6:30AM

*Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Med Aide in a LTC setting required. Will have CNA responsibilities when done passing medications.*

*Duties *
* Administer medications to patients according to prescribed schedules and protocols.
* Monitor patients for side effects or adverse reactions to medications and report findings to nursing staff.
* Maintain accurate medical documentation regarding medication administration and patient responses.
* Assist in the development of individualized care plans that address the unique needs of each patient.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
* Provide support and education to patients and their families regarding medication management and health maintenance.
* Uphold strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations in all aspects of medication administration.

*Qualifications*
* Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in memory care, acute care, or hospice care is preferred.
* Knowledge of anatomy and physiology is essential for understanding patient needs and medication effects.
* Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Cerner or Epic is highly desirable.
* Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills for accurate medical documentation.
* Ability to work effectively within a team while also demonstrating independent judgment when necessary.
* Compassionate demeanor with a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
