The Medical Surgical Telemetry Unit is a 60+ bed, mixed acuity, adult and pediatric unit. The nurse patient ratio is often 4:1. The team consisting of RN’s, PCT’s and telemetry techs sees a variety of patients with medical diagnosis ranging from diabetes, ESRD and strokes. As well as post-surgical diagnosis of joint replacements, bowel resections, amputations and pediatric surgeries. The Med Surg Tele Unit also participates in the New Grad Residency program. This allows graduate nurses a 12-16 weeks of unit specific orientation with an assigned preceptor
The RN Manager of Med Surg Telemetry Unit will have an opportunity to support the nursing staff in their nursing growth and development as well as oversee the unit's administrative functions and contribute to its future planning and development. The Medical-Surgical Tele Nurse Manager manages and oversees patient care delivery, as well as the associated operations and personnel for the nursing unit. When required, you will provide nursing care according to nursing practice hospital policy.
