What You Will Do

Raytheon, an RTX business, is looking for a Signal Processing Systems Engineer to join our systems engineering team. Our Engineers support technical direction and design to software agile development teams, and other Engineering personnel. They perform technical analyses and define how the system works creating use cases, system capability and feature designs, defining system interfaces and acceptance criteria. In this role, the candidate will provide engineering support for the implementation of a portion of the program's systems engineering. To succeed in this role, you must have development lifecycle experience using the Agile methodology, experience with Signal Intelligence (SIGINT) and/or RF domain experience, experience with digital communications and be familiar with Algorithm development. The position is full time, on-site in State College, PA
  • Collaborate with the Raytheon systems engineering teams to design and develop software
  • Assist in providing technical information and clarification during the entire software development lifecyle; from conceptualization and design to development, testing, deployment, and operations.
  • Perform solution decomposition from customer epics, to capabilities, to features, to stories according to SAFe Agile practices
  • Apply systems engineering expertise to feature designs to reduce overall risk to the software development effort
  • Engage with customer user representatives or subject matter experts to gather user needs and incorporate into the feature designs for the agile development teams
  • Engage with SMEs from other disciplines to fully understand the solution and document the designs.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a degree in Scienc2e, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations; or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 2 years experience
  • Active and transferable TS/SCI U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance."
  • Experience working in an Agile development team environment with multi-discipline engineers and stake holders, developing system solutions to meet customer requirements, requirements decomposition, and experience with CONOPS development
  • Experience working on teams addressing solution definition, decomposition, design and acceptance criteria
  • Experience performing design with cross-disciplined engineering teams
  • Experience working in the software development lifecyle
Qualifications We Prefer
  • SIGINT, GEOINT, or Multi-INT Intelligence Community (IC) background with end user mission experience
  • Experience in a technical role of a large multi-disciplined engineering team
  • Experience with cloud-based S/W architectures and systems
  • Experience developing MBSE and DoDAF
  • Background and experience successfully working with all levels of engineering development in large government software development programs as well as an individual contributor as part of an agile development team
  • Engineering experience working in the full software development lifecycle using Agile methodology that ensures high quality software is built and released to end-users quickly and within cost and schedule parameters
  • Experience using Agile tool sets (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.), and evaluation of
  • Requirements decomposition, system architecture and system design
  • Experience using MBSE processes and tools to capture systems design and elaboration in Cameo or similar tool

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
