Position Summary: The Speech Language Pathologist evaluates and treats communication disorders, including motor speech disorder, language disorder, cognitive language deficits, and voice disorders.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
Licensed to practice Speech Therapy in the state of Florida.
Ability to utilize computers and other electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping, in-servicing and documentation.
Ability to pass drug, criminal, and employment screenings.

Preferred Skills:

Able to meet the requirements identified in the Essential Functions.
A minimum of one year's experience working with a frail or elderly population is preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

Evaluates and treats patients with diagnosis of dysphagia.
Develops and implements plans of treatment with approval of a physician that focus on functional and measurable outcomes. Adheres to professional standards of practice.
Provides documentation to maintain quality of the medical record as it relates to reimbursement guidelines, accuracy of billing information and Agency requirements.
Schedule, supervise and execute all treatments and re-evaluate the patients' physical status at periodic intervals.
Confers with the physician in regard to changes in the plan of treatment, patient status, care and progress.
Hold in confidence all personal information related to him/her by the patient unless such information will be beneficial to that patient if reported to the referring physician.
Follows administrative policies and procedures related to emergency procedures, infection control and safety.
Assists the Administrator in procuring proper equipment and supplies required for the patient/department.
Keep abreast of new techniques and trends in the fields of speech-language pathology.
Perform any and all other duties as may be assigned.
