Senior Systems Engineering Manager - Propulsion (Onsite)

This position is a manager for the Systems Engineering team in Mission Systems Ejection & Propulsion department. This manager will lead the systems definition for the Propulsion platforms. They will have accountability over a staff of Systems Engineers and their deliverables to their supported programs. This manager will also support department activities to improve efficiency, ensure predictable execution, and keep talent staff engaged.

This role is eligible for relocation.

What YOU will Do:

  • Direct management of engineering team including hiring, career development and mentoring
  • Create strategies around customer requirement definition to support platform development.
  • Accountable for meeting program requirements including cost and schedule
  • Interface with program management and program leads to assure technical goals are achieved.
  • Oversight of all procedures and processes being adhered to by the team
  • Implement best practices and improve efficiency
  • Responsible for capturing lessons learned and implementing corrective actions.
  • Support Pursuit & Order capture activities including bidding & estimation efforts for new programs
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • 2-4 years of experience in Managing an engineering team and/or System leadership experience.
  • Bachelor's degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws / regulations OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years' experience OR In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) access.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Strong experience with Engineering management in a matrix organization
  • Significant experience as Aerospace Systems and/or Propulsion Systems
  • Experience with development for DoD customers
  • Experience with Earned Value Management
  • Experience with Agile Program Management
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and champions MSBE best practices

The salary range for this role is 130,000 USD - 272,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
