Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Staff Accountant to join our financial services team. As a key member of our accounting department, the successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and maintaining financial reports, managing cash flow, and performing other accounting functions. This role requires a strong understanding of financial concepts, technical accounting principles, and accounting software such as QuickBooks and Quicken.

Duties

- Prepare and review journal entries, financial reports, and other accounting documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Manage and maintain the general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable, and perform other accounting tasks.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for cost reduction.
- Develop and maintain budgets and financial forecasts.
- Conduct financial audits and perform other accounting-related tasks as needed.
- Provide support to other accounting staff members and assist in the training of new employees.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting laws and regulations.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Proficiency in financial accounting and reporting.
- Experience with QuickBooks and Quicken.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts and technical accounting principles.
- Experience with financial services and financial report interpretation.
- Ability to analyze financial data and make recommendations for cost reduction and process improvement.
- Experience with financial auditing and budgeting.
- Accrual accounting experience is a plus.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Job Types: Contract, Temporary

Pay: $27.00 - $31.00 per hour
