Piedmont Atlanta is seeking an RN Evaluation Coordinator to join our Heart Transplant team. Serving one of the largest heart transplant and LVAD centers in the nation, the Samsky Advanced Heart Failure Clinic is the point of entry for patients seeking advanced surgical options for heart failure. This role is pivotal in assisting patients through the evaluation process for heart transplant and LVAD candidacy. Come work with a dynamic team of multidisciplinary professionals, including cardiothoracic surgeons, pharmacists, registered nurses, social workers and dietitians. The role is full time Monday-Friday during business hours with a work-from-home option one day per week after training completion. No evenings or weekends required.
JOB PURPOSE: Participates in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the left ventricular assist device (LVAD) program and the heart transplant program; to coordinate and manage the patient care of this high-risk patient population throughout the continuum.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Graduate from a Registered Nurse Program.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Two (2) years of professional clinical experience required.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License.
BLS and ACLS certification required.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Cardiovascular focus experience preferred.
One (1) year experience caring for LVAD patients and heart transplant patients preferred.
Leadership qualities including time management, verbal and good written communication skills, listening skills, decision making, priority setting and work organization skills. Must be self-directed and use independent judgment. Effective communication skills and team building skills required. Demonstrate compassionate patient communication.
