Production/Warehouse Support Associate
Alsip, IL
Job Summary
The Production/Warehouse Support Associate plays a pivotal role in optimizing lean manufacturing processes. This position will support in coordinating material handling, inventory management, and overall support for lean production. Responsibilities include supplying materials to production workstations, aiding in material handling, inventory control, cycle counts, and facilitating various production tasks, such as CNC machine setup, packing, painting, and shipping. Additionally, this role assists with documentation, cleanup, and changeovers.
Responsibilities
•Efficiently move materials, parts, and assemblies to support uninterrupted production flow. Utilize continuous improvement techniques to minimize errors and enhance productivity.
•Maintain inventory accuracy and perform cycle counts.
•Load/unload trucks, manage inbound/outbound materials and check incoming equipment for teardown.
•Replenish materials and tools when needed, ensuring their usability.
•Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage areas on or near the cells.
•Manage inventory in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.
•Facilitate interdepartmental communication and teamwork. Assist with CNC machine startup and tooling for operators.
•Inspect outgoing parts for quality compliance. Complete transfer orders accurately within SAP.
Basic Qualifications
•High school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of experience in a production manufacturing environment. Experience with inventory counts, tracking software (i.e., SAP), and inspection is preferred.
•Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
•Must be able to operate in a systematic manner, with the ability to multitask, manage time efficiently, and prioritize workload.
•Must be able to interpret a wide range of instructions, whether in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule formats.
•Must be able to read work instructions, work orders, safety warnings and chemical labels in order to follow proper procedures.
•Forklift/Crane certification is preferred. If not certified, must be willing to obtain certification through on the job training.
