Essential Job Duties:The graduate student will assist in processing complex archival collections with a focus on animal rights and welfare collections. This archival processing work may involve sorting papers, photographs, video formats, or other archival materials into chronological or alphabetical order, labeling folders, or keying in container lists and box labels. The graduate student will also assist in writing and updating collection descriptions. This position may include digitization work (scanning of primary source materials). Work will take place at the Administrative Services Annex on Sullivan Drive, Special Collections' primary storage facility.

Work Schedule:Shifts will be between 9am to 4pm M-F. Shifts are split according to student schedules and availability.
Minimum Experience/Education:Graduate status; no experience necessary
Department Required Skills:Punctuality and reliability required. Must have ability to work carefully with fragile materials, follow instructions, work independently, and show an attention to detail. This position requires the ability to work with materials where dust or other allergens may be present.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education:Understanding of archival collections; experience with or coursework in archives, digital curation, archival description; archival experience. Experience with digitization techniques and technologies. Enrollment in a graduate program in Library Science or Public History is highly preferred.
