Job DescriptionDescription

Position Summary

This position is responsible for fully performing basic Medical Assistant duties. Facilitates unit operations by managing patient flow. Responsible for all front desk duties specific to department, including scheduling patients, collecting and verifying patient payor information and other patient documentation.

Required For All Jobs
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
Qualifications

Qualifications

Education

  • Completion of a Medical Assistant Program Required OR
  • Other Accredited Program Completion of accredited practical nurse program Required

Work Experience

  • 1+ years of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant or LPN preferred

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Able to communicate effectively with people from varied socioeconomic backgrounds. Required
  • Able to organize changing work assignments. Required
  • Medical terminology knowledge. Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Preferred  OR
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of Ohio Required
