A leading healthcare facility in southern New Mexico, is seeking a skilled and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team. The Physical Therapist Assistant will report directly to the Director of Rehabilitation Services. This position involves close collaboration with physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to our patients.

Our Rehabilitation Department is dedicated to helping patients regain their independence and improve their quality of life. The unit is equipped with advanced technology and resources to support a wide range of therapeutic interventions. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will assist in implementing treatment plans designed by physical therapists, provide hands-on therapy to patients to improve their mobility and strength, and educate patients and their families about exercises and activities to support their recovery. Additionally, you will document patient progress accurately and maintain detailed records, collaborate with the healthcare team to adjust treatment plans as needed, and ensure a safe and clean environment in the therapy area.

Requirements

  • Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
  • Previous experience in a clinical setting preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Commitment to providing high-quality patient care
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records and documentation
