Together, let's advance the world of minimally invasive care.Job DescriptionThe Ion endoluminal system is Intuitive's new robotic platform for minimally invasive biopsy in the peripheral lung, with an initial goal of improving the early diagnosis of lung cancer. As an algorithms engineer on the Ion project, you will join a small team of robotics and software experts. You will play a lead technical role, working to conceptualize, design, and evaluate new aspects of a guidance software solution.Work as part of a cross-functional team in a fast-paced, start-up-like business unitDevelop new algorithms and software implementations related to medical image analysis and/or computer visionPrototype and iterate on designs, develop tests, and deliver high-quality software in C++Create requirements and formal test protocols for new featuresQualificationsMS or PhD in CS, EE, ME, BioE or related fields with 6+ years of related experienceGreat communication skillsStrong programming skills; C++ knowledge preferredDemonstrated expertise in computer vision, medical image analysis, registration, robotics, sensor fusion, and/or machine learningDemonstrated ability to systematically troubleshoot and debug complex systemsHigh levels of independence and technical ownershipBonus points for:Experience with development in LinuxExperience with OOP designKnowledge of one or more of the following libraries and tools: OpenCV, PyTorch, TensorFlow, ITK, VTK, ROSExperience with medical devices and product development in a regulated industryCandidates at all experience levels are encouraged to apply, as the seniority level of the position may be adjusted based on the applicant.Additional InformationDue to the nature of our business and the role, please note that Intuitive and/or your customer(s) may require that you show current proof of vaccination against certain diseases including COVID-19.  Details can vary by role.Intuitive is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
