As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will work on designing, developing, and implementing machine learning models and algorithms. This includes developing techniques to augment Large Language Models such as GPT-4 and BARD with retrieval techniques and tools, as well as fine-tuning those models for specific tasks. You will collaborate closely with the founding team who have a strong track record of building industry-defining machine learning and analytics products.

About the Role:

As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will design, develop, and implement machine learning models and algorithms. This includes developing techniques to augment and fine-tune Large Language Models (both open-source and proprietary) with retrieval techniques and tools. You will work in a tight-knit team, closely collaborating with the founding team.

Job Function
  • Rapidly prototype ideas using large language models and develop ML solutions by fine-tuning these models and augmenting them with retrieval.
  • Utilize expertise in information retrieval, search ranking, and natural language processing to develop these solutions.
  • Implement effective data processing techniques to ensure high-quality input for the machine learning models.
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of machine learning models, considering factors such as accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in large language model research, integrating relevant findings into our projects.
Qualifications:
  • Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in applied machine learning, focusing on search, recommendations, and information retrieval.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
  • Strong understanding of NLP techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Willingness to work onsite 4-5 days a week at our Sunnyvale office.
