What you will do

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Component Planning & Purchasing to join our growing team This role will report directly to the Executive Director, Materials with a team of 6-8 individual contributors. This role will be responsible to create & execute our component planning strategy across our NA Ducted business (3 facilities) to improve material readiness supporting operations, mitigate unforeseen risks of supply, and optimize inventory (DIOH). This role will also be responsible for our purchasing execution and improving existing business processes.

Component planning

  • Define and implement Plan for every Part (PFEP) & order policy strategy across all commodities / hardware groups & components.
  • Review item classifications and develop a sustainable process to maintain accuracy (ABC/XYZ).
  • Maintain integrity across all Item Master by developing standard business process and policy, and drive proactive execution of correct planning parameters.
  • Complete inventory level optimization and outlooks by continuous management of aligning supply vs demand requirements (negative and positive balances).
  • Drive improvements across our ECN / part deviation process, maturing our overall item management.
  • Lead cross-functional coordination of supply plans for phase in / phase out transition plans to improve our readiness, inventory accuracy and excess/obsolete inventory.

Purchasing

  • Analyze purchasing process methods to improve overall end-to-end efficiency i.e. discrete, SA, outlines, system automation, etc.
  • Improve performance & execution of tactical-based, daily tasks i.e. supply alignment, exception messaging.
  • Support our P2P (procure to pay) process execution to reduce past-due delinquency.
  • Support execution of DMR (discrepant material reporting) accuracy and timeliness with suppliers. - develop process that repeatable, define each process step

How you will do it

  • Gain thorough understanding of business model, products and supply chain.
  • Highlight key areas of opportunity through extensive data-driven analytics.
  • Rigorous reviews of current ERP planning parameters.
  • Build cross-functional partnerships across S&OP, operations, manufacturing and engineering teams to drive best-possible solutions.
  • Build operating systems through KPI creation, standard processes, and team / talent development.
  • Drive a problem-solving culture through technique coaching and servant leadership.

What we look for

  • Bachelor's degree and minimum 8 years of industry experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to build teams through servant leadership and development / coaching of individual contributors.
  • Functional expertise in material planning (MRP) and supply planning (MTS and MTO strongly preferred).
  • Functional expertise within ERP systems (SAP).
  • Functional experience (directly and/or supporting) within manufacturing operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively problem solve to drive / influence business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability of data-driven analytics to drive / influence business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to summarize, simplify and communicate complex messages to various levels, cross-functionally (up to VP / GM).
  • Demonstrated ability to create and/or improve standard operating processes, with proven success of sustainment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).
  • APICS Certification preferred.
  • Ability to travel 15%.
