Job Posting Summary Baptist Health is hiring for a Cardiac Electrophysiology Registered Nurse for Wolfson's downtown. This is a Full-Time day opportunity. This office is only open during the day which means there is no call and you will have weekends off The office is constantly growing and the team is absolutely amazing with wonderful leaders Cardiac Electrophysiology Registered Nurse General Description: * To provide patient care in the Pediatric and Adult Congenital Electrophysiology Pacemaker Clinic- inpatient, remote and outpatient clinic areas. * Preference will be given to individuals competent in the use of cardiac pacemaker/defibrillator devices and remote monitoring. * Experience with the use of EP lab pacing and mapping equipment is strongly desired but not a prerequisite for the job. * To provide regular health assessments, diagnosis, and management of common electrophysiological acute and chronic stable conditions. * To formulate plans that includes treatment, psychosocial support, health education and counseling. * To collaborate with other health professionals in assessing and managing health care problems. * To maintain continuity of care and to coordinate community services. * To contribute to the development, maintenance, evaluation, and change of the health care delivery system. The Pacemaker Registered Nurse at Wolfson's will be responsible for the following tasks: * Performs in office pacemaker/AICD checks every 3-6 months (depending on battery life, may be more frequent) using Medtronic, Abbott, Boston Scientific, or Biotronik programmers; checks battery life, lead impedance, view sensitivity, parameter settings, threshold/voltage/pulse wave, how much the device is being utilized, and rhythm abnormalities. * Changes or adjusts pacemaker/AICD settings or parameters as needed to enhance device's performance. * Serves as primary resource for clinical support in the areas of basic troubleshooting, programming, and patient follow-up for company products. * Educates patients on the merits and proper clinical usages of device products by giving presentations and demonstrations using a wide variety of formats and platforms. * Keeps all patients informed on the latest product, therapy, and technology developments. * Explains in office testing procedures and phone check procedures to patient and obtains verbal consent of understanding. * Calls patient as scheduled to perform pacemaker phone checks; checks battery life, magnate and nonmagnate rate once or twice monthly depending on age of device. * Attaches electrodes to patient to monitor heart rate/rhythm, places wand over device to transfer in information to programmer. * Performs clinical and library research and participates in case reviews and clinical observation by working with physicians and hospital lab staff. * Schedules and confirms new and returning patient appointments. * Monitors pacemaker/AICD recordings for abnormal patterns, BOL, ERI, and EOL. Edits and forwards final test results to attending Physician for analysis and interpretation through the utilization of the current EMR system and device clinic software. * Forwards abnormal findings directly to the Physician or nurse per policy and procedure. * Assist in other areas as needed or scheduled specific to the arrhythmia clinic. * The EP Nurse will provide health care and specialized health services to patients in the ambulatory care and inpatient and EP Lab Pediatric/Adult Congenital Electrophysiology setting. * The EP Nurse will maintain accurate documentation regarding patient status, evaluations, and treatments to physicians, the RN/Clinical Team; including communicating specific patient needs to internal and external UF team members and other providers. * Device program responsibilities will include interrogating devices from major companies (Medtronic, Boston Scientific, St Jude, Biotronik) in the ambulatory and inpatient setting. * Will also provide clinical expertise and direction to support patient medication management. * Practice will be in partnership and consultation with the attending EP faculty and APRN * Will collaborate with other care providers/consultants to coordinate and communicate clinical care. * Will participate in Division weekly meetings, conferences and case presentation related to patient population. * Will perform other related duties as required to assure patient safety and satisfaction. * Will participate in the development and presentation of educational experiences for patients, families and health care professionals including workshops, lectures, and in-service programs.
