Position Overview:
Baptist Health is seeking a dedicated Cardiac Electrophysiology Nurse to join our esteemed team at Wolfson's. This is a full-time position focused on providing exceptional care in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver comprehensive patient care in the Pediatric and Adult Congenital Electrophysiology Pacemaker Clinic across various settings including inpatient, remote, and outpatient.
  • Prioritize candidates with proficiency in cardiac pacemaker and defibrillator devices, as well as remote monitoring capabilities.
  • Conduct regular health assessments, diagnosing and managing both acute and chronic electrophysiological conditions.
  • Develop treatment plans that encompass medical care, psychosocial support, health education, and counseling.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to address and manage healthcare challenges.
  • Ensure continuity of care and coordinate community services effectively.
  • Contribute to the evolution and evaluation of the healthcare delivery system.

Specific Duties Include:
  • Perform in-office pacemaker and AICD checks at regular intervals, utilizing various programmers to assess device functionality.
  • Adjust pacemaker and AICD settings as necessary to optimize device performance.
  • Act as a primary resource for clinical support, troubleshooting, and patient follow-up regarding company products.
  • Educate patients on device benefits and proper usage through presentations and demonstrations.
  • Keep patients informed about the latest advancements in products and therapies.
  • Explain testing procedures to patients and secure their understanding and consent.
  • Conduct scheduled phone checks for pacemaker monitoring, ensuring timely follow-ups.
  • Monitor heart rate and rhythm through electrode attachment and data transfer to programming devices.
  • Engage in clinical research and case reviews in collaboration with physicians and lab staff.
  • Manage appointment scheduling for new and returning patients.
  • Analyze pacemaker recordings for abnormalities and communicate findings to the attending physician.
  • Assist in various areas related to the arrhythmia clinic as needed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient evaluations and treatments, ensuring effective communication with the healthcare team.
  • Conduct device interrogations from major manufacturers in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
  • Provide clinical guidance to support patient medication management.
  • Work in partnership with attending EP faculty and APRN for comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in weekly meetings and case presentations relevant to the patient population.
  • Fulfill additional duties as required to ensure patient safety and satisfaction.
  • Engage in the development and delivery of educational programs for patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
