Feel free to enrich both your personal and work life and hop on boardWhy you'll love this jobThis job is a member of the Corporate Security Team within the Corporate Affairs Division.Responsible for conducting and coordinating investigations for transnational threats to include narcotic smuggling events, and implementing narcotic preventive strategies, while protecting the customers, employees, and corporate assets of the airline.This job also acts as a primary liaison with industry and government security agencies related to law enforcement and regulatory affairs that effect or may affect employees, customers, operations and assets system wide.What you'll doServes as American Airlines (AA) subject matter expert (SME) with internal and external stakeholders and is the Corporate Security representative on all matters involving transnational threats and crimeLeads a team that deploys and supervises contractors in the delivery of tactical countermeasures to mitigate transnational threatsOversees a multi-state, multi-airport, multi-million-dollar narcotics detection canine service contract programResponsible to develop, track, and deliver on goals and objections, and key performance indicators (KPI) to measure success of transnational threat countermeasuresCreates annual budget, capital plan, and project plans Owns the corporate anti-narcotic smuggling strategy that guides AAs efforts and capacity to prevent team members, contractors and assets from being used to smuggle narcoticsPartners with internal and external business partners to develop and implement anti-narcotics smuggling policies, procedures and countermeasures to detect and prevent narcotic smuggling across the AA enterprisePrepares and delivers briefings and reports to leaders across the company on narcotic smuggling trends, incidents, investigations and open source intel collectionsBuilds new and leverages existing relationships with U.S. and foreign law enforcement and industry partnersRepresents AA as an expert in meetings and forums with U.S. and foreign regulators, task forces, law enforcement and agency officials, other companies and trade associationsConducts investigations, gathers and prepares evidence to identify and eliminate insider threats related to drug smuggling and other criminal activityModerate to extensive travel requiredAll you'll need for successMinimum Qualifications - Education & Prior Job ExperienceBachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience in a related field5+ years of experience supervisory/managementPreferred Qualifications - Education & Prior Job Experience20 years’ experience in law enforcement or military service10 years’ experience in narcotic investigations U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) component command unit counter-drug operations or counter-drug task force experiencePreferred field of study criminal justiceBilingual with Spanish preferencePrevious anti-narcotics work experience in the Caribbean or South/Center AmericaSkills, Licenses & CertificationsKnowledge of Microsoft OfficeStrong analytical skill including the ability to research, analyze and present investigative findingsStrong attention to detailStrong interpersonal skillsAbility to work in a fast paced and rapidly changing environmentAbility to pass criminal history check to obtain necessary access media to perform dutiesWhat you'll getFeel free to take advantage of all that American Airlines has to offer: Travel Perks: Ready to explore the world?
