Job Description:
The Westchester Educational Opportunity Center (WEOC), a division of Westchester Community College, is seeking experienced, energetic, innovative, results oriented professionals to join its team. Located in Yonkers, NY, this non-traditional adult education institution provides tuition-free academic and vocational training to eligible underserved adults seeking to develop basic academic and vocational skills competencies and credentials needed for enrollment in college and/or entry into the workforce.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Seeking energetic and engaging Adjunct Faculty to teach Anatomy & Physiology to CNA and HHA students. The incumbent will provide classroom instruction for students interested in employment in the healthcare field. Successful candidates must demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of a diverse population and have the ability to work effectively with students who have barriers to employment. Classes may be offered days or evenings.
Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate must possess a minimum of a Master's Degree in biology or related field from a recognized college or university and 1 year of experience. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication and presentation skills are required; the ability to establish a rapport with students and maintain an environment that supports learning and promotes student retention, experience teaching remotely, and experience using an LMS are also required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience teaching adult learners and at-risk populations strongly preferred. Organizational and detail-oriented skills also preferred.
Additional Information:
POSITION EFFECTIVE: Spring 2023.
SALARY & BENEFITS: The hourly rate of pay is $82.57. No benefits. This position is fully grant funded.
