About Westchester Community College:


Westchester Community College was founded in 1946 as the New York State Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences in White Plains. In 1957, the County of Westchester bought the 360-acre John Hartford estate in Valhalla and designated 218 acres for the community college. Westchester Community College is more than just the county's largest educational institution. Job Description:


SUNY Westchester Community College seeks Adjunct Faculty to teach Elementary Italian 1 & 2. The position requires 4-5 contact hours dependent on class. Adjunct Faculty may teach up to three classes each semester at the main campus and satellite locations in Westchester County.



Requirements:


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate must possess a minimum of a Master's degree in Italian or related field in Italian Studies and have a minimum of one year of experience. Successful candidates must also be familiar with course management systems, and have experience with online, remote and in person classes.


All candidates must have evidence of responsiveness to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practice within the classroom.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of a Master's degree in Second Language Acquisition in Italian or related field in Italian Studies is preferred. Experience in instructional technology and one (1) year of classroom teaching in any level of Italian are also preferred.



Additional Information:


POSITION EFFECTIVE: Spring 2025 semester. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.


SALARY & BENEFITS: $82.57 per hour. No benefits.
