The Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard is launching the Center for Human Experience, a new cross-disciplinary initiative dedicated to understanding how human experiences shape tissue health and physiology. We are seeking a partner to help lead this center as Director of Scientific Strategy alongside the center’s leadership team. Role Overview: This director role will play a pivotal role in defining strategy for the center. This includes overseeing contributions from affiliated faculty and fostering a collaborative community within the center. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in science, science communication, and leadership, guiding the center’s research goals and working closely with the leadership team to chart its future direction. Responsibilities:Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the center's director and leadership team to develop long-term scientific strategies and set goals for the center’s research and community-building efforts. Operations Management: Manage and allocate the center’s budget, oversee the review of grant proposals from affiliated faculty, and ensure resources are utilized effectively. Community Building: Foster a collaborative community, organizing events such as seminars, workshops, and outreach activities to engage faculty, researchers, and external partners. Project Management: Assist investigators in planning, organizing, and executing projects, ensuring timely progress and successful completion. Communication: Communicate the center’s goals and achievements to internal and external audiences, promoting transparency and engagement. Qualifications: Education: Ph.D. or equivalent in a relevant scientific field. Experience: Proven track record in scientific research, with experience in science communication and leadership.
