Summary:

The Social Worker (LMSW or LCSW) will perform psychosocial assessments and provide therapeutic crisis intervention for victims and families of child abuse. This position works directly with the C.A.R.E. Team and community agencies to provide services for families and victims of child abuse. The Cook Children's C.A.R.E. (Child Advocacy Resources and Evaluation) Team provides medical evaluations for sexual abuse, physical abuse, neglect, drug exposure, and other forms of child abuse. The C.A.R.E. team is actively involved in community education and training in the awareness and prevention of child abuse and neglect.


Required Education/Experience:

  • Master's degree in social work (MSW).

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience.

  • 3 years' experience working in a hospital-based child protection program (preferred).


Certification/Licensure:

  • LMSW with TX Behavioral Health Council, LCSW preferred.

  • CPR certification
