Sew Seal Operator

Job Summary:

General: Meet and comply with company policies and procedures, including but not limited to, work performance, quality, and attendance. Responsible for applying ID Tags and Emblems to garments as per instructions based on dwell time, placement instructions, stitches per inch, etc. Also required to cut garments and hem to required length as per instructions. Ensure that the SKU and quantity of garment as per pick ticket are correct. Personal Protective Equipment is required in this area. Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned by a supervisor or team leader. Will be required to work overtime as necessary (Part-time can volunteer not to exceed 29 hours).

Must be willing and able to actively participate in plant-wide safety activities.

This position requires standing and sitting for long periods of time while operating equipment. Individual is frequently required to walk and constantly required to stand to perform all functions related to Sew/Seal and Cutting. In addition, the individual is occasionally to sit while performing the hemming functions of this position. Frequently bend, squat, and reach overhead. Occasionally kneel. Constantly grasp. Individual is regularly required to use leg and foot to operate foot pedal actuated machines. Individual is regularly required to stoop and/or bend to place garments on conveyor and push loaded carts and hampers. Individual is constantly required to lift up to 15 lbs, frequently required to lift and/or move frequently up to 20 pounds and occasionally up to 30 lbs, frequently push up to 30 lbs. and occasionally up to 40 lbs. Should the need arise to lift, carry, or push heavier weights than those listed, the employee is expected to utilize teamwork to accomplish the task. Possess the ability to talk, hear, see, and distinguish between colors. In addition, this position requires cross-training in other areas of the facility.

Qualifications

Language Skills: Required to read and write English and follow verbal and/or written instructions.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic mathematical functions.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed verbal and/or written instructions.
