Overview

Reporting directly to the Manager, the Senior Captive Manager will have responsibility for providing all aspects of day to day management services to a portfolio of captive and commercial (re)insurance clients.


How you'll make an impact

 

  • Provide accounting, financial reporting, and corporate administrative services to a portfolio of captive and commercial (re)insurance clients.
  • Prepare regulatory filings for client companies.
  • Compile and analyse information from a variety of data sources for the production of financial documents and reports.
  • Prepare client management accounts and financial statements in accordance with established accounting principles applicable to the business of insurance (IFRS/GAAP).
  • Liaise with clients, brokers, or other insurance carriers in the preparation of insurance contracts.
  • Work with clients and their risk management advisors to design and implement captive program changes.
  • Monitor clients’ regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate periodic actuarial and year-end audit processes.
  • Liaise with client personnel and service providers.
  • Prepare meeting materials and attend client meetings.
  • Support Artex’s presence at industry and domicile conference as needed.
  • Other ad-hoc projects as required.

 

 

 


About You

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree (Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration) and 2 years of related experience required.

Skills required:

 

  • ACA, CA, CPA or ACCA professional accounting qualification is desirable.
  • Minimum of two years’ post-qualifying experience in re/insurance related field.
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and U.S. GAAP including an excellent understanding of insurance and investment accounting standards.
  • Knowledge of the captive insurance market and regulatory environment would be advantageous.
  • Demonstrable working knowledge of risk based reporting regimes.
  • Understanding of insurance contracts is desirable but not required.
  • Advanced computer literacy skills, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Experience and current working knowledge of reporting from general ledger systems.
  • Knowledge and experience with the SunSystems Accounting package is desirable but not required.
  • Demonstrable ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Motivated individual who is deadline driven and committed to delivering an excellent level of client service.
  • Excellent verbal, written, organizational skills with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
