Fleet Capability Manager

Flexible Work Policy: The Fleet Capability Manager position has been segmented as Hybrid, meaning the work is a combination of onsite (3 days per month) and virtual. This position is based out of our corporate headquarters in Rosemont, IL.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Partner with Regional Field Sr Directors, Market Fleet Managers, and Corporate Fleet to execute on initiatives for Fleet management programs and processes

  • Track and support key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure alignment with goals and objectives

  • Identify and collaborate across regions documentation of best practices, procedures, and policies related to fleet business process

  • Execute training plans for Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to communicate & manage change in work process, as well as scorecards and dashboards to monitor improvements

  • Responsible for development and implementation of a robust and repeatable preventative maintenance program for the entire fleet.

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to fleet operations.

  • Partners with Business Process Team to update, enhance, and establish processes that improve vehicle uptime and technician productivity across the fleet organization

  • Provide regular reporting on the performance of business process to key stakeholders

  • Other duties assigned by manager

RELATIONSHIPS

  • Internal: Finance, Field Operations, Supply Chain Excellence, Finance, Category and Vendor Management teams, Data and Systems, Reporting & Analytics, Information Technology, Procurement, Program Management Office, Routing & Operations, Replenishment

  • External: N/A

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in fleet operations, 2 years supervisory or management

  • Able to translate data insights into specific optimization and improvement actions 

  • Able to conduct a thorough analysis of current business processes and identify areas for improvement

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office with the ability to present clear and concise information to key stakeholders 

  • Ability to display resourcefulness, reliability, sound technical judgement and initiative

  • Ability to manage time and balance multiple tasks with competing deadlines

  • 50% travel

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience in field fleet maintenance, information technology, business operations, supply chain, finance, economics, or equivalent experience  

CERTIFICATIONS/TRAINING

  • Six Sigma Certification is a plus

  • Knowledge of reporting tools such as Tableau, Power Bi or equivalent tools

  • Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and FSQA regulations and standards preferred

  • CTP, NATMI, ASE, or other industry certifications a plus

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in supply chain management, business, and/or data analysis, or related field

  • Heavy duty or Automotive Fleet management and mechanical experience preferred

  • Background and experience with leading Fleet Shop Operations and driving productivity and fleet reliability

  • In-depth knowledge of fleet management software and technologies
