Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Leads system level product definition activities.
  • Manages test definition, modifications, and flow-down.
  • Drives validation and verification activities for the overall product/system, including system level testing.
  • Manages product definition interface between design, systems, and execution organizations.
  • Provides input on product requirements (internal and external), defines components and sub-systems making up the overall architecture.
  • Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline.
  • Serves as best practice/quality resource.
  • Has awareness of latest developments in own area.
  • Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others.
  • Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering.
  • Takes new perspective on existing solutions.
  • Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
  • May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of 6 years of product definition design or systems experience.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in Aerospace or equivalent industry.

Desired Characteristics

  • Master's degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Exposure to aviation engine design or certification requirements.
  • 10 years of experience in product definition of turbomachinery.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Communicate and coordinate clearly with internal and external partners.
  • Communicate concisely and appropriately with both internal and external senior leadership teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
  • Established project management skills.
  • Passionate about giving & receiving mentorship.
  • Prior experience working with global cross-functional teams.
  • Able to work both in a global team and individually.
  • 10 years of experience in a product definition position, especially with global and cross functional teams.
  • Ability to guide and influence others.
  • Demonstrated process orientation in approach to work.
