Role Overview:

The Lead Quality Engineer – Repair QMS Manager is responsible for compliance and execution of the aftermarket Quality Management System to include process oversight, process improvement, regulatory compliance, complaint management, and daily issuance of compliant repair releases.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and improve Quality Management processes related to Aftermarket Repair, including internal and external audits
  • Manage, perform and execute the Repair "Release" process
  • Manage all external regulatory contacts, including source inspection, investigations, regulatory submissions, and audits
  • Oversee inspection process capability
  • Support investigations and improvement suggestions for systemic root causes
  • Review and approve rework orders
  • Maintain RUI (Returned Unit Investigations) log and metrics for management review
  • Provide customer support across GE Aerospace sites, including Lean initiatives
  • Manage DCMA (Defense Contract Management Agency), PQDR (Product Quality Deficiency Report), and GSI (Government Source Inspection) processes
  • Issue and process CARs, NCs, team investigations, 8Ds, and Ship Holds
  • Provide internal/external audit support (FAA, EASA, CAAC, ISO, CASE, customer, etc.)

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 7 years of experience in aftermarket/repair manufacturing Quality)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in aftermarket/repair manufacturing Quality

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in aftermarket/repair manufacturing Quality
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Experience in Civil and Government Aviation Aftermarket Repair operations and regulations
  • Previous Civil certifications (Repairman, A&P, EASA, CAAC, FAA, etc.)
  • Prior solder certification (IPC, MIT, CIT)
  • Prior internal audit and/or QMS experience/certification
  • Lean/Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
