  • Under supervision, assists in developing work schedules in response to marketing forecast, sales orders, and service priorities. Facilitates accomplishment of schedules and administers work order, service order, and Kanban inventory systems. Fulfill and transact purge requests, service parts requests for sister sites, tooling requests, and KanBans for service and production areas.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: List the essential duties and responsibilities of the position, in order of importance and/or amount of time spent.

 
  • Assists in developing and implementing work schedules.
  • Assists with releasing work orders to Production and Machine Shop, tracks orders, and coordinates movement of documentation and parts to proper areas.
  • Responsible for completing requests for purges and KanBans.
  • Responsible for working with  Engineering, Machine Shop, and Service to get tooling request built and delivered
  • Assists with implementation of EC changes into Production, Machine Shop, and Service.
  • Works closely with Purchasing to prevent parts shortages.
  • Communicates with Order Fulfillment regarding customer priorities and shipments.
  • Performs other functions in support of Production Control as assigned.
  • Controls and monitors Kanban systems.
  • Estimates the amount of material, equipment, and labor required for production.
  • Promptly addresses and resolves production issues to minimize delays in production.
  • Coordinates production operations in accordance with material, labor, and equipment availability.
  • Effects changes to production schedules to ensure that production deadlines are met.
  • Compiles status and performance reports and submits them to management in a timely manner.
  • Promptly informs the relevant departments of changes to current production schedules.
  • Regular attendance is an essential job function.
  • Will spend part of his/her time as a member of continuous improvement teams undertaking projects and seeking ways to improve the quality of KSI’s products and services.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: What does a person in this position need to be able to do?

  • Problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Solid verbal, written, interpersonal & organizational skills.
  • Previous Production Control experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred; similar experience will be considered.
  • Familiarity with MRP systems.
  • Good computer skills including Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of medical device quality system regulations and standards (e.g., U.S. FDA Quality System Regulation 21CFR Part 820, ISO13485, ISO9001) a strong plus, or equivalent regulated industry standards (e.g., aerospace, automotive, defense)

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  What is the usual educational background and work experience of an individual qualified to perform this job?

  • College degree preferred.
  • Two years Production Control experience in a manufacturing environment or strong understanding of the subject with demonstrated aptitude. Similar experience will be considered.

 

PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: What are the specific physical and mental demands of this position?

  • Light lifting up to 20 lbs may be required.
  • Prolonged periods of time standing on production floor and prolonged periods sitting in front of a computer.
