Job Summary and Qualifications

The Behavioral Health Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of patient care through the process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation. In addition, the registered professional nurse prescribes, delegates, coordinates, supervises and evaluates patient teaching and the activities of the ancillary nursing personnel while maintaining the standards of professional nursing.

What You Will Do in This Role:
  • You will assess, plan, intervene and evaluate the care of psychiatric patients.
  • You will instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions.
  • You will maintain and review patients' records including posting tests and examination results.
  • You will administer medications in accordance with physician orders

In This Role You Will Have:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing 
  • Current State of Florida Registered RN License, or Recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions)
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS Certification via American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Advanced certifications (i.e. CEN, TNCC, etc.) preferred
  • A minimum of one-year acute care hospital RN 
  • A minimum of one-year Behavioral Health experience 
  • DCF Background Fingerprinting Required

Our services include a 24-hour Emergency Department, Advanced Primary Certified Stroke Center, Orthopedic Institute, Critical Care Unit and an Interventional Vascular Suite. We have Inpatient Diabetes Care, Diagnostic Imaging, Outpatient Rehabilitation, and a Center for Pain Care and surgical services. HCA Florida JFK North Hospital offers services for mental health and wellness for children, adolescents, adults and seniors. We have 600 colleagues and 900 medical staff.
