Our client, a Oil and Gas leader is seeking an expert Contracts Advisor to lead the implementation of project contracting for multiple business lines globally. As an Expert, you will have direct contract management for commercial construction projects, backed by a proven track record.

Job Title: Contracts Advisor III
Location: Spring, Texas
Pay Range: $95-120/hr on W2
Contract: 12 Months to start

What’s the Job?

  • Manages process, produces deliverables, and updates tools to support development of project contracting strategy, contractor qualification, bid slates, tender, and evaluate proposals
  • Develops detailed Contracting Plan(s) consistent with overall Contracting Strategy, Invitation to Tender packages (ITT)
  • Leads or supports negotiations of any contested contractual terms and conditions, verifies all contract documents are consistent, obtain final approval working with multiple departments
  • Provides pricing / other commercial analysis to Project Team (PT) for development of contract award recommendation
  • Develops and leads internal kick-off meeting(s) with Company personnel to ensure contract awareness, reviews contract terms and conditions, change order process, and claims avoidance
  • Leads Contract Administration, including working with project and business managers in aligning on contract administration responsibilities
  • Expedites and files Contractor commercial documents (e.g., insurance certificates, Parent Company Guarantees, LOCs, etc.), and files original Bank Guarantees/LOCs per agreed processes
  • Develops and monitors approval process and compliance with invoicing and payment process
  • Establishes a close-out agreement with Contractor (settlement of any outstanding items)

What’s Needed?

  • 10+ years of broad-based experience, related professional experience
  •  Experience in Contracts Engineering / Administration preferred
  • Previous experience in a closely related position required 
  • Experience in commercial negotiations, contractor management and contract administration
  • BS in Engineering, MBA preferred (BS/MS Engineering, MS Construction Management
  • Broad understanding of project execution and contracting principles, theories, and concepts
  • Willing to business travel (domestic / overseas)
  • Professional qualification / certification from related professional body, (ISM – CPM / CPSM, APICS, PMP)
  • Strong proficiency and experience in commercial negotiations (significant redlines), contractor management and contract administration for large project engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) agreements
