CSL Behring's portfolio of innovative medicines includes a wide range of recombinant and plasma-derived products for treating bleeding disorders, immune deficiencies and chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy, as well as hereditary angioedema and Alpha 1 Antitrypsin Deficiency.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Senior-level global leadership role that is accountable for the oversight and management of strategic planning and execution of all external, leadership & employee communications, issues & crisis management and other functional communications supporting the global CSL Behring Access, Business Effectiveness, Commercial Development & Medical Affairs organizations. This includes serving as the primary communications business partner and strategic counselor to the Heads for Access, Business Effectiveness, Commercial Development & Medical Affairs and their leadership teams. The incumbent’s responsibility will include ensuring respective global integrated communications strategy and execution plan – aligned to support Access, Business Effectiveness, Commercial Development & Medical Affairs business priorities.  The leader will be responsible for ensuring all Access, Business Effectiveness, Commercial Development & Medical Affairs and employee communications are aligned and coordinated, and working with the Agile Site Communications Team to ensure resources are leveraged at all locations around the world (including in Australia, China, Switzerland, Germany and the US.)

The role partners with Access, Business Effectiveness, Commercial Development & Medical Affairs senior leaders to understand their priorities and develops and executes strategic, compelling and differentiated Communications programs that deliver on Access, Business Effectiveness, Commercial Development & Medical Affairs objectives. The incumbent must be able to think strategically and globally and be a strong, trusted counselor to senior Access, Business Effectiveness, Commercial Development & Medical Affairs leaders and who can deliver measurable results.

Reporting to the Head, CSLB/CSLV CEA Business Partner, the incumbent will achieve the following objectives:

• Develops and maintain a risk management and compliance framework for privacy and data protection.

• Primary communications counselor to the CSLB Head, Operations and the Head, Quality.

• Active participating member of the global Access, Business Effectiveness, Commercial Development & Medical Affairs leadership teams, assisting with annual planning, budget oversight, and development of Communications initiatives that support broader Operations, Quality, and Enterprise-wide goals.

• Leads strategic counsel to Access, Business Effectiveness, Commercial Development & Medical Affairs leaders and execution of programs that support telling long-term business story.

• Ensures all Access, Business Effectiveness, Commercial Development & Medical Affairs communications efforts are consistent with CSL Group brand messages, both company and employer brands.

• Develops and arranges execution for Heads for Access, Business Effectiveness, Commercial Development & Medical Affairs communications plans.

• Works with Agile Site Communications Team to ensure development and execution of successful strategic communications plans– aligned with Operations business objectives - at local Operations sites globally.

• Responsible for managing, optimizing existing resources and executing external communications in support of global Access, Business Effectiveness, Commercial Development & Medical Affairs business objectives.

• Leverage multiple Centers of Excellence to support business communications objectives for Access, Business Effectiveness, Commercial Development & Medical Affairs.

• Manage third-party communications agencies in support of Access, Business Effectiveness, Commercial Development & Medical Affairs business objectives.  Includes leading agency selection, ensuring the company’s global Brand Position is integrated and reflective in communications and on-boarding agencies.

• Manage and/or assist in the management of Access, Business Effectiveness, Commercial Development & Medical Affairs issues that may impact the CSL business and/or the company’s reputation.

• Work with Agile Site Communications Team to ensure consistency, coordination of all Access, Business Effectiveness, Commercial Development & Medical Affairs Communications across the CSL Group.

• Ensure CSL Group communications processes and policies are established and adhered to globally within Access, Business Effectiveness, Commercial Development & Medical Affairs organizations.

• Demonstrated ability to influence others, while fostering strong working relationships.

• Drive the execution of Communications strategy in area of responsibility.

• Actively collaborate with Seqirus Manufacturing/Operations communications contact to ensure consistency, where appropriate.

• Demonstrated ability to be effective in a highly-matrixed organization.

• Champion best practices & execute across team through consistent engagement with global Corporate & External Affairs team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or closely related field; MBA or Master’s in Communications a plus.

• 12 years' communications experience including communications program/people management, in product or corporate communications/ public relations.

• Experience managing communications/teams within a global environment.

• Pharma/Biotech or similarly regulated environment experience desirable.

• Advanced, progressive professional development training is ideal. Applied Science communications experience of 10+ years is highly desirable.

• 3+ years digital communications experience is preferred.

• Demonstrated experience in successfully working in a highly matrixed organization is a plus.
