Our client, a plumbing supply company, is seeking a Forklift Operator to join their team in Brooklyn, NY. This is a 6-month long assignment, with possibility of extension.
Job Title: Forklift Operator
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Pay Rate: $19- $19.50 hours
Schedule : Monday to Friday, 7:45AM - 4:30PM
What’s the Job?
- Read shipping orders to determine quantity and type of transportation needed.
- Inform the office when orders are ready to ship.
- Pull material for pickup and shipments.
- Prepare UPS shipments.
- Maintain packing slips from material received from vendors.
- Keep track of shipments that are ready to ship to ensure all material is complete with necessary paperwork for the trucker.
- Prepare pack slips, bill of ladings, and labels.
- The ability to drive and operate a forklift.
- Use a scale to check weight for shipment and or cartons shipping via UPS.
- Load material on a flat bed or box truck.
What's needed?
- 2+ years of Warehouse Experience
- Heavy Lifting: must be able to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, and occasionally lift and or move over 50 pounds with manual assistance or the use of a power jack or forklift.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
