Position Overview:
The Shipping Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and accurate shipment of our products. This position involves coordinating outgoing shipments, verifying shipping contents, collaborating with third-party logistics (3PL), and maintaining records to support our operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively across teams.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule transportation for outgoing shipments and coordinate with the team to prioritize all outgoing orders.
  • Examine shipment contents and compare with records (manifests, packing slips, invoices) to verify accuracy.
  • Collaborate and communicate with 3PL partners to facilitate order processing.
  • Check and input freight invoices into the ERP system.
  • Monitor and ensure on-time delivery of shipments; manage overdue postings and new order requests.
  • Prepare and pack orders for shipment, ensuring proper labeling and compliance with regulations.
  • Address any discrepancies with the sales team or carriers regarding damages, shortages, or nonconformance.
  • Maintain established production efficiencies through effective shipping process controls.
  • Conduct efficient and accurate picking and packing of orders, including custom goods.
  • Maintain records of imports and exports and generate necessary shipping documents for all exports.
  • Assist with inventory counts and handle hazardous materials in compliance with regulations.
  • Analyze freight costs and provide reports to the operations manager.
  • Support internal and external audits with appropriate documentation.
  • Assist with the application process with the DOT for new explosives/products as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications in logistics or supply chain management are a plus.
  • Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of hazardous material handling and transportation regulations is a plus.
