PRIMARY FUNCTION

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for day-to-day equipment preventative maintenance and troubleshooting at all Baker facilities.

                         

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 


Performing quality checks on HVAC, air conditioning, plumbing and electrical systems
Checking and responding to security and safety issues
Testing and recommending new maintenance products
Coordinating deliveries from vendors and suppliers
Keeping documents of inspections and problems
Doing landscaping, shop maintenance and pest control
Keeping an inventory of cleaning and repair supplies
Training others, if applicable
Additional job duties as assigned
 


 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 


Construction skills such as carpentry, painting, masonry, plumbing, roofing and welding
5-7 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician or equivalent
Mechanically inclined
Knowledge and understanding in the use of conveyors, PLCs, welding processes and equipment, drill press, packaging machinery, trailers, scales, grinders, hand and power tools, impact guns, bench grinders, and band saws
Positive attitude and ability to problem solve and multi-task
Ability to work at heights and confined spaces
Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills for fixing maintenance issues
Administrative skills for ordering supplies, handling records and scheduling maintenance
Physical strength and dexterity to lift, move and handle equipment
Stamina to deal with long hours standing or walking
Strong verbal and written communication for discussing maintenance issues
Organizational and time management skills
High school diploma/GED, certificate in Machine Tool Technology or equivalent work experience
