This position is Per Diem role as needed. Schedule will vary days of the week and shift times. Our office is in the Owensboro Regional Hospital at 1201 Pleasant Valley Rd, Owensboro, KY 42303.
Primary Responsibilities:

Receives and relays internal and external calls and provides general information
Operates telephone software applications to route incoming calls and place outgoing calls
Operates the computerized system for patient transport including answering calls, entering information into patient transport system, assigning Ambassadors, and clearing the task when complete
Dispatches patient transport and security staff as needed to the correct direction including the use of proper radio etiquette to ensure accuracy
Maintains desk directories, on-call list, reference guides, and other associated reference materials
Receives and accurately prioritizes; distributes phone calls to providers and nursing staff as needed
Communicates codes, alerts, drills, and other announcements according to established policies and protocols including disaster management plans
Proficient in all software applications specific to the Communications Department
Maintains work area in a clean and orderly fashion to ensure equipment is functional

High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
Beginner level experience with computer and Windows PC applications, including the ability to navigate and learn new and complex computer system applications

Preferred Qualifications:

1+ years of experience in a related environment (i.e. office, administrative, clerical, customer service, etc.) using phones and computers as the primary job tools
Prior health care experience

Soft Skills:

Demonstrated ability to listen skillfully, collect relevant information, build rapport and respond to customers in a compassionate manner
Proficient conflict management skills to resolve issues in a stressful situation
