Major Areas of Responsibility:

This Engineer is responsible for designing, deploying and maintaining network solutions.
Installing, updating and reconfiguring client’s lead processor (RVP/CRB) platforms for remote testing. Work is in support of testing client’s platforms.
Maintaining servers for basic functionality and operation.
Complete build of open and closed chassis servers from BOM, TOPs and assembly instructions
Updating FW (BIOS, BMC, CPLD and VR) version using standard programming dongles
Install BKC versions from Corporate/platform database
Replacement of standard (SSD) to unique server components (experimental CPU heatsinks) per customer definitions
Defining specific platform “add on” HW from either a generic capability description or functional specification request.
Manage area network infrastructure, infrastructure automation code.
Deployment of new network infrastructure (creating static DNS entries, creating DHCP reservations, managing scope settings)
Troubleshooting network issues.
Creation and maintaining of Host systems (application packages, base OS images, task sequence authoring/testing, determining standard configurations for host hardware).
User account creation/administration.
Ensuring all systems are compliant in accordance with global IT policy.
Own first and second level debug steps to repair malfunctioning platforms
Work with Engineering to troubleshoot to root cause of failing platforms.


Minimum Requirements:


Understanding of network services, VLAN tagging, and subnets.
Ability to configure and work with Linux via command line.
Ability to execute scripts.
Through understanding of VM capabilities and implementation.
Experience with Windows 8.1, 10 & 11.
Experience Red Hat, CentOS OS versions at a minimum.
Experience with Windows Server 2012 R2/2016.
Expert pathfinder.
Prioritizes work assigned whether from manager, area ticket system or customer/team directive.
The candidate must be able to work several tasks successively in an independent manner.
This position can occasionally require extended periods of sitting while working at a bench.
This position can occasionally require extended periods of standing while working at a bench.
Competently understands the English language in the written and spoken form.
Possesses and exercises a good customer oriented attitude and behavior.


Preferred Skills:


Understands need for automation and recognizes where needed, how to implement it.
Puppet coding experience.
Familiarity with AD and GPO.
Cisco experience (CCENT/CCNA).
