Mineralogy Technician II – Englewood, CO
Type: Contract to Hire
Shift: M-F 1st Shift, 9/80 schedule (every other Friday off)
Pay Rate: $23-$25/hr
Essential Duties
Conduct sample inventory, organization, cataloging, and re-packaging
Submit projects with samples in LIMS, indicating test work required
Operate equipment like riffle/rotary splitters, bowl pulverizers, and ensure quality control
Perform wet- and dry-screening and maintain sieve cleanliness
Prevent sample cross-contamination and prepare samples for analysis (e.g., XRD, SEM)
Maintain detailed records in lab notebooks and storage systems
Assist other departments with sample preparation and weighing when needed
Order lab consumables and report equipment maintenance
Follow safety, environmental, and social responsibility protocols
Experience
High school diploma required; Associate or Bachelor's in a science-related field preferred
Basic computer skills (Excel, MS Word)
0-2 years of experience in a relevant field preferred
Basic math and chemistry understanding
Proficiency in Word Processing and Excel
Ability to work with diverse teams
Reading and interpreting documents (e.g., Safety Data Sheets, warning signs, manuals)
Initiative, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn
Familiarity with OSHA and MSHA regulations a plus
