We are looking for a motivated and creative leader to help shape and support our mission.GD-OTS offers great benefits effective the first day of employment Medical, dental, vision, and 401k, among other benefits are available without a waiting period and offered at a low cost to you.Major Position ResponsibilitiesThis position will be located at the new GD-OTS facility located in Mesquite.Summary:Designs, develops and implements nondestructive testing (NDT) to evaluate the properties and conformance of a material, component or system without causing damage. Records, analyzes and reports test results. Writes testing plans and maintains test documentation in accordance with applicable regulations and requirements.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform non-destructive tests on objects or materials to examine and attest functionality and performance.
Identifies errors and defects in equipment.
Use of ultrasound, radiography, or other techniques during the testing process.
May be responsible for testing mechanical compoinents, storage, or transport vessels; Like pipelines or containers.
Impact of the Role:
Performs manual tasks according to established procedures
Requires basic skills in an analytical or scientific method or operational process
Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelines
Works with close supervision
For Mesquite Operations: This will be for Second Shift Position.Basic QualificationsEducation:
Vocational/Technical Training Degree
Preferred: Vocation/Technical Training Degree
Discipline/Major: Technical school or an applicable skilled trade program
0-3 years prior experience
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Technical Expertise
Problem-Solving Skills and Time Management Skills
Manual dexterity.
Required Newar Vision Acuity and Color Perception
Additional Certifications: NAS 410 Certification Level 1
Preferred: Experience with start ups, such as project planning, and establishing business processes, management systems, and work instructions is desired. This is an exciting opportunity to create the business processes, systems, and culture to stand up a high performing manufacturing operation.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
May need to stand for long periods of time.
Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
May be requested to work a different shift.
This position is Safety Sensitive.
Travel RequirementsLess than 25% travel likely.
