For that purpose, New Energies teams have to deliver its Hydrogen Refueling Stations (HRS) products on time, on budget and compliant with local regulations. To achieve this, New Energies needs to roll out a collaborative network between the various geographies, ensure new technological bricks developed by aB&T, R&D, or partners are delivered in a short time to market and are effectively industrialized. Lastly, New Energies shall provide strong support to operations and business teams in the development of competitive proposals. The controls engineer will support these objectives.Responsibilities:
Safety focused. Report near miss incidents and accidents timely and accurately.
Collaborate with product engineers to optimize the system process in fueling applications and develop the functional analysis/controls narrative.
Create process automation documentation including organic analysis, IO list, alarm list, cause/effect matrix, exchange table, etc.
Develop and optimize the code for Hydrogen fueling stations
Work with and supervise third parties vendors as needed to complete project tasks (Electrical and control panel inspections/FAT, software subcontracting, etc.), .Provide leadership and guidance with respect to software engineering, embedded controls and user interfaces.
Track system changes and submit/approve management of change (MOCs) in the system as required.
Provide support for system troubleshooting and tuning of installed systems.
Communicate through periodic reporting, the scope of work effort and advise on resource needs and availability.
Develop working relationships with project engineers and 3rd party contractors to support a cohesive team capable of rapid response to emergent issues.
Learn and participate in the improvement of product offerings for alternative energy solutions
Technical lead for electrical design and procurement of electrical components and panels, including inspections and testing.
Coordinate and lead :
Commissioning and Start-Up activities for New Energies installations in North America.
Maintenance and Services activities


Support the development of FAT and commissioning checklists as required.
Provide direction and planning required for commissioning to lead to a safe and stable station operation.
Manage contractors that are used to assist in commissioning activities.
Coordinate and perform in process inspections of equipment to ensure vendors are maintaining quality and technical specifications during projects.
Perform factory acceptance testing and ensure all equipment and components are built to specifications and operate as desired. This includes preparation of inspection documents (FAT procedures).
Assist with equipment troubleshooting as required.
On call duties from customers and partners
Manage maintenance schedules and contractors
Ability to be on-call as needed
Manage spare parts inventory
Train customers and partners for the commissioning (operation) and maintenance.
Perform key maintenance activities

Requirements
Bachelor of Science Engineering
Embedded controls programming, software layout development, electro-mechanical design, layout and troubleshooting
5+ years experience in product / process design and engineering
5+ years experience managing programming projects including some experience in the following:
Programming Siemens S7-300, S7-1500 with Step 7/TIA portal and Wincc
Integration with other third party systems over Modbus TCP/IP, Profibus and OPC communication.


Understanding of field wiring standards for 4-20mA wiring, loop checks and Profibus/Profinet.
Excellent communication skills in English language, verbal and written
Demonstrates strong process and operational safety behavior at all times.
Ability to work autonomously and manage priorities
Innovative thinking
Solution based problem solving
Travel up to 40%- Local, Regional, National & International.
Current US Passport

Preferred
Professional Certifications (Siemens)
Familiar with SCADA packages
Working knowledge of compressors and hydraulic systems
Knowledge in VFD drives
Knowledge of networking protocols - Profibus, Profinet and Modbus TCP/IP
knowledge and ability to work with Medium Voltage - 600Volts

Familiar with NEC/ASME codes and Hazardous area classifications

Salary RangeSalary range for this position in Houston, TX is $120k - $130k with an additional annual target incentive of 11% based on performance
