Reads and reviews assembly instructions on available drawings and/or receives verbal instructions for duties to be performed.
Written and/or verbal instructions are to be discussed with supervisor and assigned engineer if clarification is necessary to ensure complete understanding of given tasks.
Assembles prototypes according to instructions on available drawings (NOTE: Additional details will need to be added to the available drawings by the prototype assembler to offer more clarity to future production groups manufacturing the product).
Winds magnet wire (8 AWG to 50 AWG) around core or bobbin using hand-winding and semi-automatic machines (push-pull winder, Adams-Maxwell winding machine, Jovil winding machine, etc.).
In-process tests (turns ratio, inductance, Q, DCR) to be performed on wound components using electrical test equipment (Wayne Kerr, Voltech, etc.)
Simplifies the assembly of a prototype, requiring the use of assembly fixtures. Detailed instructions on how to use fixtures will need to be documented on the drawings.
Performs intermediate assembly tasks, such as potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, labeling, marking, stamping, etching, impregnating, and color-coding parts and assemblies.
Routes and connects lead wires to designated contact points and solders connection (J-STD-001 & IPC-610 training required).
Installs finished assemblies or subassemblies into cases.
Adjusts or trims materials from components to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics.
Performs visual & mechanical inspections to ensure parts meet the drawing specifications.
Performs final review of developed prototype and drawing specification with supervisor to ensure the drawing is "manufacturing-ready."

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pmQualificationsEducation/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). No experience necessary, willing to train the right candidate. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of manufacturing software.
