The Assistant Director supports the Preschool Director/Principal in the administration and operation of the preschool, focusing on compliance, enrollment, community relations, staff supervision, and the management of daily school functions. This role is key to ensuring the delivery of an enriching, safe, and nurturing environment that fosters learning and growth for our students.
Responsibilities:

Educational Program & Environment
Assist the Director in maintaining high-quality educational programs and implementing the approved Spring Education Group (SEG) curriculum.
Provide in-classroom coverage for teaching staff, including during breaks, absences, and shift changes.
Ensure the school environment is safe, clean, attractive, and conducive to learning.
Participate in the licensing and accreditation processes for the school.
Provide feedback to the Director on staff performance through both formal and informal observations.

Leadership & Staff Management

Collaborate with the Director to create an effective leadership team.
Assist with staff recruitment, orientation, and professional development.
Provide leadership to non-exempt staff, ensuring compliance with SEG policies and state regulations.
Support the retention of teachers by setting clear expectations, providing feedback, and recognizing individual contributions.
Model professionalism and integrity, maintaining confidentiality and compliance with federal, state, and company policies.

Administration & Compliance

Assist in managing daily administrative tasks such as tuition collection, budget oversight, and maintaining accurate records.
Help to ensure compliance with state and federal laws, safety protocols, and licensing requirements.
Serve at the front desk as needed, answering phone calls and assisting with administrative duties.

Community Relations & Enrollment

Participate in local marketing efforts to promote the school and grow enrollment.
Build and maintain positive relationships with parents, staff, and the wider community.
Follow the Customer Engaged Admissions process to support prospective parents and students.

Ancillary Programs

Assist in planning and implementing before and after-school programs, as well as summer camps.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:
Education & Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required; Associate degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
At least one year of teaching experience is required, with experience in education administration or business administration preferred.
Eligible candidates must have received an Associate or Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education OR completed EDU119 OR EDU 111 & EDU 112 OR CDA
Complies with all state-specific education and licensing standards and maintains validation of credentials for the position (ex: professional development).

Skills & Abilities:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to manage conflict effectively and demonstrate strong organizational skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and knowledge of technology's role in education.
Understanding of early childhood education principles, goals, and techniques.
