JOB DESCRIPTIONThis outstanding position combines automation system domain expertise with consulting skills. We are looking for candidates with a strong technical background in various PLC platforms (Rx3i/PAC8000/ 90/30 systems strongly preferred), understanding of control system design considerations, project experience, as well as technical sales support experience. In this role, you will primarily be supporting our project team as we work with customers to plan and implement their projects including brownfield system modernization. Presenting our system migration solutions to our customers and various internal collaborators, performing onsite opportunity assessments, collaborating with our project execution teams, and designing and implementing the solution are key functions of this exciting role.IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:
Define advanced applications and modernization solutions by working closely with other Emerson Business Units including global engineering centers.
Lead engineering activities on multiple projects.
Evaluate customer specification for scope definition and generation of work statements.
Develop various design documentation including system architecture, functional design specifications in accordance with project requirements.
Produce bill of materials and coordinate material ordering and delivery with project manager and subcontractors.
Develop PLC and HMI/SCADA applications.
Perform customer FAT and SAT
Provide technical support to the project pursuit team.
Standardize application software and develop and improve testing procedure.
Training customers in systems operations and troubleshooting.

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent degree from an accredited University or College
5+ years' experience in designing and implementing control system solutions.
Experience with On-site implementation, testing, and commissioning.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:
8+ years of experience in designing and implementing PLC control system solutions
Experience with PLCs (GE Fanuc experience strongly preferred).
Basic understanding of Industrial IOT, Industry 4.0 and an interest in manufacturing automation
Strong collaboration skills and ability to work cross functionally and across businesses
Continuous learner motivated to stay current on competitor solutions, customer needs, new technology
