The Role

This is an opportunity to join MarketAxess financial reporting team as a Financial Reporting Associate. The role will be a vital part of the financial reporting and finance teams. Ideal for a proactive problem solver who thrives for continuous improvement and challenges the status quo.

How You'll Help Take Us There


Prepare quarterly and annual SEC (10-Q & 10-K) filings, including financial statements, footnotes, and management’s discussion & analysis.
Assist with review of XBRL tagging of financial statements and footnote disclosures for the quarterly and annual SEC filings.
Work with internal and external auditors to furnish requested information in a timely manner for the quarterly reviews, annual audits and internal controls testing.
Assist in accounting analysis of transactions and in preparation of accounting policy memos.
Keep current with SEC and Financial Accounting Standards Board issues and interpretations, and suggest enhanced disclosures, if applicable.
Prepare annual benefit plan financial statements and footnotes.
Assist the regulatory reporting team with broker-dealer reporting, including monthly FOCUS reporting, quarterly 17H reporting, and semi-annual financial statements and footnotes preparation.
Assist with special projects, as needed, providing answers on a timely basis to a variety of financial and accounting questions.
Support the month-end financial close process by ensuring compliance with accounting procedures and policies and preparing journal entries and account reconciliations for certain areas.


What We’re Looking for  


2+ years of experience in public accounting and/or SEC reporting
Strong analytical, technical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work with stakeholders across the Finance and Legal departments
Self-motivated and proactive, with strong attention to detail
Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and deadlines
Strong proficiency using MS Office applications, especially Excel and Word
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
CPA strongly preferred

For job positions in NYC, NY, and other locations where required, the estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $85,000 USD to $120,000 USD. Actual salary may vary depending on job-related factors, which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. You may also be eligible for annual cash incentives, equity, and other benefit programs.
