We are currently seeking a candidate experienced in model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools and the application of them. The job will necessitate learning the combatant command mission, the ability to work with senior CCMD sponsors, and discuss operational missions, processes and capabilities in order to represent the holistic view in a digitally model-based representation to inform analysis and recommendations to the sponsor. The role is expected to support an exciting variety of challenges across our sponsor base such as: electromagnetic spectrum operations, cybersecurity analytics, network resiliency analysis, and operational and military utility analysis. We look to apply digital engineering and model-based engineering techniques to solve the nation’s toughest problems. As a key member of MITRE's Systems Engineering team, you will collaborate closely with mission specialists, engineers, and government stakeholders to tackle the intricate challenges of systems engineering critical to national security. Your expertise in model-based systems engineering will be leveraged to be applied to operational missions such as nuclear planning, nuclear communications resiliency, electromagnetic spectrum operational and global operations center processes.
Able to apply model-based systems engineering concepts and approaches to real world problems
Development and assessment of intricate systems engineering challenges using industry-standard languages such as SysML/UML.
Apply analytical approach to support difficult policy and capability decisions assessing areas as military utility, operational effectiveness, technical efficacy to achieve highest quality engineering solutions
Identification and articulation of major uncertainties, along with associated risks and opportunities, devising strategies to mitigate and capitalize on them.
Partner closely with the MITRE staff on how to apply MITRE’s modeling expertise to variety of challenges
Apply analytic rigor through prototyping, may involve some software development
Become familiar with and engage on MITRE innovation initiatives relevant to the sponsor needs in partnership with Department leadership
Work closely with USSTRATCOM, NC3 Enterprise Center (NEC), Joint Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations Center (JEC), Joint Staff (JS), Office of Secretary of Defense (OSD), Service and Component sponsors, and MITRE colleagues, supporting those sponsors, on shared problem sets
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or similar technical degree with 2 years of related experience; with the experience and ability to immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.

Evidence of knowledge of principles, concepts, methods and tools for conducting model-based systems engineering
Demonstrated proficiency in technical areas relevant to the specific role, such as model-based systems engineering (MBSE), digital engineering, and system-of-systems architecture.
Knowledge of tools and methodologies commonly used in systems engineering, including SysML/UML, Cameo, MagicDraw, Magic Systems of Systems Architect, Tableau, Neo4J, and Rhapsody.
BS and 5 years of related experience or MS with 3 years of related experience, or PhD in a STEM field
Active TS/SCI level security clearance
Familiarity with DoD organization and missions, the role of the Joint Staff, Combatant Commands, and Military Service Components, operational environments and threats.
Familiarity with systems engineering standards and frameworks (e.g., Familiarity with Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition and requirements processes.
Knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in systems engineering, including digital engineering, artificial intelligence, and machine learning applications.
Advanced proficiency in relevant programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply systems engineering principles to complex challenges.
