The ASPCA Animal Hospital (AAH) provides care for animals whose owners are experiencing financial challenges and could not otherwise afford medical care for their cats and dogs. Additionally, we provide life-saving care for animal victims of cruelty and neglect who come to us through our internal partners (Adoption Center, Kitten Nursery, Community Medicine, and Community Engagement teams) and through our external partners (New York Police Department and other NYC organizations).

Interns also rotate through our Community Medicine high volume/ high quality spay and neuter clinic, and master techniques developed by the ASPCA Spay/Neuter Alliance (formerly known as Humane Alliance).
The AAH Internship Program offers unique and specialized rotations in medical care of animal cruelty victims (anti-cruelty rotation) and veterinary forensic medicine. The ASPCA anti-cruelty veterinary medical team provides daily care for animal victims of cruelty in a shelter facility. The ASPCA NYC forensic veterinarians have a combined total of 55 years of veterinary practice and 29 years of work in veterinary forensic medicine.
